boat is running fine.1976 Searay 255 merc. When I am returning to the dock the channel is about 1/3 mile, idling through is no problem...however when I turn hard into my dock the motor stalls. Could something be pinching a fuel line somewhere or is this a stupid question..Maybe the idle is to low?

Re: stalling while docking

Loghomer, There are only two possibilities that I can think of for the stall. If you have power steering, it is possible that the PS pump draws enough power away from the motor to stall it on that hard turn. You can test this in open water by idleing higher than normal, and then making a hard turn. If the motor does not stall, you may have found the cure. The other possibility it that the part of the motor connected to the steering cable contacts some wiring and shorts out the ignition. I recommend you have someone move the steering and watch for this.

Good Luck
