Stall At Mid Throttle

My 1988 Merc 115 L6 will start and idle fine. When I throttle forward slow and steady, I can reach full speed and RPM without issues. When I throttle forward from an idle very quickly, it will stall momentarily and then take off OK. Does it also in rev. I have read in the forum that it could be a carb linkage adjustment. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

It sounds like the low speed jets are set to lean---Bob

Do you have Stabil in your gas tank? I've had a similiar experience with my 1988 100HP, and I've theorized it was when I had Stabil in the tank.

Re: Stall At Mid Throttle

Thanks for the info. I had suspected mixture settings, but after reading a little here, I wasn't so sure. I use STP in the fuel sometimes, but this time I used Quicksilver's Dri-Fuel. I will try a tank without it before adjusting the mixture.

Thanks for the advice.
