I am trying to plan a mini getaway for me and the girl. I would like to cruise from the St. Croix River at Stillwater down to Lake Pepin, Lake City Marina and stay overnight in town. Is there anything out of the ordinary I need to know about this little trip? Am I completely crazy for doing this in a little Glastron Speedboat? I cruised from Stillwater past afton one Sunday and it seemed harmless.
I here there are locks to deal with and to watch out for Wing Dams, but will I have a problem making it to Lake Pepin in a day? Any suggestions for a lunch stop along the way and maybe a place to stay in Lake City and things to do there?
I doubt I will need to fill up with my 3.0l until I get to Pepin.
