SS160 and Kicker Motor?

Hi. I have a 1990 SS-160 with a 60 hp Merc, and I would like to use it on a lake with a 10 hp restriction. Has anybody added a 10 hp kicker to an SS-160? Any tips? Thanks.

if you have room to mount it on the transom next to your main motor that would be ideal. You could just pick up one of these and link it up and use your main steering http://www.iboats.com/Kicker_Motor_...39838710--**********.370426229--view_id.37928 You will need to have the kicker on the port side for that to work well.

Ha! I had the same situation. So what I did was I used that same steering rod I linked to earlier, and drilled a hole in the AV plate on each motor and connected them up. That will work fine for your purposes. It would just be a pain to connect them up out on the water. If you do it at home you'll be fine.

Nope. Sold the boat. I'm currently redoing my "new" 18' and will be taking the opportunity to move the swim platform to the other side.
