squeel when cranking the engine

hello there 1979 cruiser with a 228/305 mercruiser I heard a squeeling noise from the back of the engine, the engine is shifting forward and reverse smooth without problems, not smell So i dont think is the coupler any suggestions.

Sure it's coming from the back? Belts on the front turning ok?

If it is coming from the back, does it change if you turn left or right, or trim up or down?

thank you don tomorro I will run that test turning left or right and I almost sure I hear the noise coming from the back, O will recheck tomorrow and post again thanks.
