I have a 2001 Johnson 115 J115PLSI and the left side greese fitting won't except greese. I changed the fitting and still have the problem so obviously the greese is hard inside. My question is how to free it? Can I heat it with a flame or is that not advisable? This is the fittings on the tube a flex on the motor.

Re: squeeky steering cable

your motor did not come from the factory with grease fitting for the steering cable. the 2 fittings on the tilt tube are for the tilt joint. you have to remove the cable to grease it, most likely have to replace it.
