squeaking V6

just a quick one for my mercruiser 4.3L v6
i have just replace the V belt that goes round the alternator water pump and the balancer and it is still squeaking like mad its not loose and its not the water pump because i spray a bit of wd40 on the alternator wheel and it goes till that dries out,could it be its too tight or is it still too loose

Why did you replace it? Was the old one worn? Broken? How are the grooves in the pulleys? Shiney and smooth or rusty? I would suggest taking the belt off and examining each pully and component - make sure the bearings are not bad, etc. Also you can check the alignment of the pulleys to make sure nothing is out of whack.
