I was out Scalloping this past weekend, the boat was running fine. Then as we were on planning going along and then I heard an alarm and the boat slowed drastically. I shut it down and restarted. No alarm and it ran fine, as I bought it up to speed, I felt what seems like the prop slip, higher RPM, then the alarm. I was able to continue at a slow speed and get home but I think I need a new prop.
The engine is a 2006 mercury 25 HP EFI 4 stroke. The prop that was on it is a 9.25 X 12.5 (mercury part number: 48-896900a40). I am thinking of replacing with the same prop. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a better, or similar but cheaper prop? Any recommendations would be welcome.
