In the musky world the gator will be found in the shallows following the Baitfish in the warmer parts of the lake. They are also lookn for some tails to tell tales to(right). Do the bass have same thoughts? Do you find them in shallow, warm waters or do they come on a little later.

Sunday I will be on the hunt for the gator but may try for some bass too..How about some hints here from you pros..I know most of my lures are a little large but I do have two other tackle boxes with the not so large status on the lure side..

Not a pro here by far. But if you are down there in Tenn. with Bubba I would think the bass are in the spawn or pre spawn. You are right on about the warmer water and the bait fish. The bass are gonna be busy gettin ready for nesting for their young. They like hard gravely bottoms for the nest. If the vegitation has not grown up much, the bass will hang near drop offs to deeper water. If the vegitation has grown up some, the bass may hang shallow. Hard to tell till you get there and see. I would run shallow running crankbaits over weed tops and try tubes over the hard bottoms.

Now if you get a bass to bite on one of those big musky baits you can bet that old girl was on the nest :D Just my two cents. Hope it helps.

They will do as flathead said and you are right they are in prespawn and almost to spawning.
Try a mepps inline spinner with a chartreuse color or a rattle bait. There is a wide variety of baits to use and I usually try to throw everything to see what they are looking for.
About midday you can usually find them in shallow areas and especially at feeders and on drop offs to deep areas. The water is at about 50 degrees here now so iffin it don't turn off real cold jeff we will be working some of those bass holes. So far the weather report is looking very good.
