Hi Guys,

First time poster here. I have World Cat with twin 150 Honda outboards on it. Sicne I have owned it the winterization, service and season start up hase been done by my boat yard as it was more convenient. In an effort to save some cash this coming spring, I plan to do the unwrapping and start up muself. I am mechanically inclined(been working on cars and motorcycles for years) and have tools so I doubt it will be much trouble.

The quesiton is, whatis recommended to be done for the initial start up? Engine and lower unit oil have been changed when it was winterized. I figure spark plugs and cleanign of teh water separators is about the only thing that needs to be done? What about water pump impellers and things like that?

Any tips or trick s would be appreciated.

Welcome to the nice forums...

Follow the standard procedure for de winterizing, check batteries are full charge and all grounds, tank, gas hoses, filters are inmaculate clean. Start engine with current plugs and go for a short wot spin to burn all internal fogging oil, replace with new plugs correctly gapped if you like to change them yearly. Dont know if Honda's are impeller eaters, if you haven't changed them at all, perfect time to check/replace before boat is placed on water.

Happy Boating
