Spotted Bass question for Texans

What would be considered a monster spot in Texas waters...??????<br />I got a 5lb. 1oz. on a buzz-bait last evening, and assumed it was a largemouth until I got it in my hand...<br />He's swimming around in my aquarium right now and I'm still amazed at the size of this football..

State record was 5.56lbs caught in 1966 by Keith Turner on Lake O' The Pines.<br /><br />The Lake Texoma record is 4.38lbs

Hey guys, this fish is still alive in my aquarium, and I've talked with one of the Local C.O's, and he's checking on how to go about the paper work and officially weigh this fish...we'll see in the next few days.<br />Nathan, this fish won't go 5.5, but it will blow 4.38 out of the water, and yes, it's from Texoma.<br />I was told not to move it until a biologist can verify the species.

Fish biologist says my fish is a Hybrid......<br />Has more charactoristics of a largemouth than a spot, even though it has the correct jaw length and tail properties of a spot...eyes are even orange.<br />Did get an official weight though....5.06lbs.<br />Biologist doesn't like the fact there are about 200 shinners in my aquarium with him, so I still don't have a direct answer yet, but I think I already know what will be said.....

My attempts at pictures of this fish in the aquarium have failed so far...digital camera, but I don't have the correct lighting or something...it shows as a blob in the view finder so I down-loaded to PC to see what it looks like and it doesn't even look like an aquarium...Looks more like your front yard would look through the bottom of a coke bottle.<br />Gotta guy I work with that does some photo work and he's going to try and get some clear shots...
