OK, so I've "fixed" quite a few things I"ve found wrong with the boat so far, but still no joy....

I rebuilt the fuel pump, new diaphragm, gaskets etc, tested the check valves, they seem fine..., but I still can't run the engine WOT, in fact, it's worse now than when I started, I barely get it up out of the hole and it drops back to 2/3 power, but the funny thing is it stays there, nice and steady, cruising at 20 or so, seems like it could run there all day, but I don't want to risk it, in case it really is running very lean..

I've poured over the electrical side, and don't see any "limp" mode like some PWCs have, I've also tried disconnecting the Rev limiter, no effect.

I checked the tank, it's clean, fuel pickup looks good, new fuel lines last year (or so I'm told..), checked the clamps on all of them. Changed the filter/separator element.

I checked the flow on the output and it seemed like a lot of flow, but it was still pulsing a little, is that normal or not??

I have found a LOT of loose/fallen out screws, bolts, even the spark plugs were barely finger tight, so if there is a hidden something that needs tightening, that could be a possibility also...

Anyway, I"m about ready to sell this thing, it's driving me crazy...4 trips to the lake and I still don't have a boat that runs right... in fact gets worse the more I do to it...

OK, kids are gone, time to sort out the boat. (sorry i couln't make it to NewBern... still may have to happen..)
So the test tonight didn't go well.

Fuel pump is rebuilt, new diaphragm, gaskets and spring
Carbs are clean.
fuel pressure is 2.5 or so at idle never goes higher than 3 at 1800

Still only runs on 2 -3 cylinders at idle... If I crank it up it starts catching on the other cylinders slowly, but dies off quickly back at idle

I took video/sound, but I have to figure out how to post it.

I haven't taken it to the lake to test, but I can guess it will run on 2-3 cylinders..

Open to suggestions. Is it electrical time???

So tonight I pulled out the trusty fluke, and found with the Red stator, there isn't much to measure, except the stator green/white to white/greeen. supposed to be 500 to 600 and measured 1550... I assume that is enough to throw my spark off, just marginally, right???

now I really need to get the flywheel off....

Any one had experience w/ a bad red stator???

I have a red stator that I replaced even though it did not need to be done according to Kend301. You can have it if you want. I can get the # off it tonight. I can mail it to you and If it works, send me the cost of mailing. If not, toss it. I just want to help out another in need. Kend301 helped me and I want to give back. Let me know. Mine is from a sport jet 90 1994. I do not know if it will work. You can check the part # and let me know.

That would be waaayyy cool, and I can pay you for the part too if it works...
The part number is 832075A21, and there is a sierra PN 18-5870 that I think is a cross but I'm not sure about that.

From what I've read, if it's a Red stator, it should work... has 4 wires, 2 yellow, one Green/white strip, one white/Green strip...

and I'm already scheming on what type of chilly beverage or nautical treat to drop off on Kend's door next time I get a chance....

boerdoc1,
if the stator is the one you talk about in the past posts, it is the correct one!!! Let me know what you want for it. From the number you posted, it is a replacement/after-market (prob sierra??) but that should be fine....
(I'm guessing your '94 was retrofitted to the new CDM...)

Let me know what you want for it...

Cheers,

The stator that I have is part #398-832075-A3. If it will work let me now. I will bring it to work tomorrow and can ship from there. I really do not want anything for it. The last time I gave a chrome auto trim to a guy in wisconsin and he sent me some cheese as a thank you. Money is not the important thing for me. i am just trying to help. All I would ask is that you "pay it forward" and do something nice for someone else in return. I hope this helps. Let me know.

Btw My 94 was converted to CDM and the stator measures 695 ohms before removal
