I think I have a dead 12 volt electric fuel pump. I suppose this is actually a primer pump.<br />There is no sound or action when I put 12 volts on the leads and continuity on the leads shows an open circuit. Is this type of inline pump available as a generic part or only Mercury OEM? I don't have a great amount of confidence in Mercury products (in light of numerous failures on a low hours engine) and would just as soon use something else.<br />Thanks, Bill
<br /><br />I'm sure somebody makes them for Merc, but who? In Merc's defense, those are usually in pretty airtight quarters where moisture attacks everything. I'd put the blame on this one on the Boat manufacturer. I haven't seen any of those fail, myself. I'm not aware of a substitute, but I question their importance on EFIs.
