Sport Jet 90 power head change

I want to use a sport jet pump on a small boat and i think the 90hp is to big. will a smaller hp mercury out board power head fit on the jet drive shaft?
does anyone know how much a a 90 hp power head weighs?

The 90 hp sportjet powerhead weighs 184lbs and the pump 101lbs.

Its basically a force powerhead, you can't bolt another merc to the pump. Start here, search the net-what your considering has been done....didn't save link but I saw pics of an SJ 90 in a 14' tinny.
