While tuning and timing we had the flushing adapter connected for a couple minutes at medium pressure. we tried to crank the engine and nothing. The starter would not turn over the engine. I removed the spark plugs and water shot out of the lower cylinder. I checked the plugs and the lower plug was "steam cleaned" the other 2 were normal. with the plugs out and the water running low there is no water coming out. I know that something is amiss. Where do I look first. Compression? disassemble? It was running fine on the water last week. Is this something that we can use for a while and repair later or is something going to blow? I would hate to lose the boat for the rest of summer.

You had to much pressure , you also could have a bad head gasket or exhaust manifold gasket , I would do both of those gaskets as they are not hard or time consuming and LOTS cheaper than a blown engine . Cost should be about 50 bucks for parts and take 3 hrs max .
