Sport jet 120xr blown ride plate :(

I Started my 96 bayliner jazz out of water... I recommend you dont do the same unless you like expensive firecrackers.
Moving on, what all did i damage?! everything looks ok besides the plate and I had to stuff the rubber foamlike seal on top of the outside of the jet drive.
I would like to know why this happened also.
If anyone else has done this already i know where to get a new plate for $270 instead of the $408 that every else is asking for. also seeing as how i have no ride plate can i stary my engine without any problems? i have further work to do the engine and it would be nice to test start it again if i didnt blow up anything els from this.

How do you know if you blew the ride plate? And what does it do? I hope your problems get fixed i am having problems with mine to, everything is pricey, i just got new steering assembly and then now oil injection problem. Goodluck with your problem

This happens due to unburned fuel collecting in the jet drive area all it takes is a little fuel still burning in the exhaust and BOOM ! If you just hurt the plate and gasket you got very lucky , I know someone who had to do over 1500 worth of hull repair .

NO you can't run this without the flush kit out of the water under any circumstances unless you want to chance more damage . You can get a fitting at LOWES I think it is 5/8 npt to 3/4 pipe

marine power service .com or google 825406A2 you mite be able to find it cheaper. go to mericruserparts.com it will help to get all part numbers and hard to find parts
