Sport Jet 120 Replacing fuel line

I pulled both of my carbs and cleaned them, as it was running a little rough. When I attempted to pull the fuel line from where it enters the bowl, the litte brass tube (with a nipple on it) came out. It goes back in, but it seems to have a little play, and a little drip of gas comes out. Is it supposed to be sealed in there somehow? Seems strange, the end doesn't have any ribs or anything on it at all. I was thinking of putting a little dab of RTV on it, not sure here.....

should press in, might look for a new one or maybe jb weld or just try it once, not sure if that is fuel resistant though. check the fuel tank vent too just to make sure it is clear and venting properly and that the line points to the side or down, no hoop in it.
