From one of Elvin's recent posts, he mentioned searching on Sport C racing. Well, I did just that today. I must say, I was surprised to see so many 40C's on so many racing boats! In fact, there were many with the 80's Nissan paint scheme. I probably went 10 years on our lake without seeing another Nissan or Tohatsu. Never knew they were that popular, especially for racing.

I believe the 40C has not been imported into the US for a good number of years. I like to believe these are all original engines ;) but reality says they must go through a number of them, racing. I saw 55-60mph numbers. Are they imported for the unique racing crowd and not available to John Q. Public? Or do they import allot of parts, powerheads, pistons, etc just to keep the old ones race ready? Does it also mean that there is a good market for a very babied, well cared for 40C? Like mine ;)

Wow, I just checked out that website. I'm proud to own a 40c now. Now if it would just run right. Hehe. Actually just got it back from repair. Haven't tried it out yet.

I have also checked out the website. It looks pretty cool. It makes me want to build one of those boats and throw my 40c on it. By the way, does anyone know what a good runnig 40c is worth. I bought my 14' aluminum v bottom, trailer, the 40c and a 25 evinrude all for $700 from my neighbor. I did put $200 into the evinrude and about $50 into the 40c for a carb kit.

The nice thing about the 40 C is that it is practically indestructable. Parts are available, but the EPA killed off whole engine importation. They are still available to the rest of the world.
