Re: Spontaneous rock combustion
Lots of weird stuff happens, almost sounded like she picked up a chunk of magnesium and a chunk of iron rock and they rubbed together.
POOF, flame on!
I know they said phosphate which would indicate phosphorus or white phosphus the stuff when it hits air it ignites.
I work around an old mine were the story goes when they got to the center of the mountain they hit a huge deposit of iron oxide and as soon as air hit it it it ignited, now this may sound like a bad thing, but in a few weeks/days that area turned into a natural smelter and they used it to melt the ore.
