First you grab a Sawzall....er... Wait you're on a tinny. Sorry, Kev. PM MichealP. He pulled his and made a shortened version. I know it involves drilling rivets.

well all the ss screws to the wood in the transom is easy to find.. then I think up top on each side there are at least 2-3 rivets... then the valance panel that faces forward is riveted to the front of the splashwell..you got to drill out those rivets.,..maybe 5-7 going from port to starboard.

there is an aluminum panel maybe 4 "wide that is verticle on each side of the boat that runs from the gunnel to the floor...i am pretty sure you have to remove that to get the splashwell to clear...the rest is glues with selant all around the top surface... along the edge with the transom wood and along the sides with the gunnels.

some rivets are hard to drill out...you might need to grinf the heads off clean and pop them out...

thats what i remember about taking mine out...but my boat didnt have a floor in it when i aquired it.

good luck

Rivits along the sides, screws under neath, piece of cake. I shortened the Jet Star splashwell by about 1/3 if you want to check that thread. Have fun:)

I need to repair the upright brackets that support the transom, and I'll most likely will need to remove part of the splash well to access the whole bracket.
Currently searching for pictures or videos on how to.
