Can't say much about the fish'n in Wva, cause I ain't done much, but Summersville lake is suppose to be good but that is a good jaunt from you.

I live right on the Ky line on I-64 and have about 4 lakes within an hours drive and it's all good.

Don't like Blufield, too much snow in a hurry there. :D

Spinner_bait Nut: From a boating point of view rather than fishing, what is your preference between Summersville, Paintsville or Cave Run Lake? We normally boat on the Ohio but this season's rain has kept us off the water most weekends. Thanks for your input.

I went to School in Charleston. (and dated the daughter of your Attorney General).

I also worked on the PA Denny Sternwheeler, and kind oof remember some pretty good regatta weekends (well if you remember them, you really didn't experience them)

Summersville lake was always a pretty good place for fishing. Had some nice weekends on the New River.

GoGreen, if I had my choice as far as boating goes, I would choose Paintsville Lake.
It is a beautiful lake with deep water, 100' at the ramp, and plenty of places to tie up to for a snack or whatever.

Cave Run is full of underwater trees which makes it good for fishing but not for boating if you do not know the lake.

Like I said, don't know anything about Summersville Lake, so I can't give you my point of view on it.
