getting the gimbal back together, long story but I need to replace the tubing from where it attaches to the foot up to the out side of the gimbal housing. The part that goes through from the inside, the barb does not protrude out the back side for the hose, looks like the hole is just big enough to accept the hose and go over the barb but no way to secure it to the barb. The barb does hold very well for sure but does this sound right? The part is screwed in all the way....

While I’d much rather have a clamp on the connection but hose barbs connections are pretty solid without them.

On that size and type of tubing a tie wrap would suffice

Agreed- however, there is no room for such. The barb just comes about flush with the surface of the gimbal housing and looks like just enough of a hole around it for the tubing to slip on it and that is it- I just don't recall what it was like when I took this apart but the part is threaded in all the way...guess it will be good. I was just going to get some hose from the local hardware but it has to be a specific OD to fit. Crap.

I've found the tube is easy to find at a boat place.
Hard to find other places.
The hose never seems to fall off the old style pitot's and they are not clamped.

Will agree the tie wrap is hard to get on once the tube is installed. I put the tie wrap on first, then pushed the tube on. There is a tad more room in the back so it can stay clear. Also agree it will probably never come off until the hose goes bad
