Is the Speedo not working usually caused by a clogged Pitot tube?

Can I just disconnect the tube from the back of the speedo and blow on it?

Where does the other end connect to?

Re: Speedo not responding

take a 1/4 drill about a couple inches long...run it into the pitot hole on the leading edge of the drive...turn it by hand..if there is anything on there ..that's what is usually clogging the speedo..worse comes to worse..take the lwr drive off and clean it that way..would be a good time to replace the impeller too...

What it ended up being, when the repair shop did my annual service on my outdrive, they never reconnected the speedo tube.
