Does my evinrude from 1967 #80752 have a thermostate? if it does, where on the engine is it placed?

Notice the hoses at the lower portion of the cylinder heads? The other end of those hoses are connected to the thermostat housing.

Inside that black plastic thermostat housing you will find two plastic valves. One of them is pushed open by the thermostat element, properly called a "vernatherm". The other one is pushed open by water pressure and is there to prevent exhaust gasses from backflowing into the cooling system
