How fast do you guys think that a 55hp Johnson would push a 18ft Chris Craft fiberglass?? i'm not crazy it has been covnerted to outboard?? Would it be underpowerd?

That little 55 is going to be working it's heart out.<br /><br />You might be able to get somewhat acceptable performance if you prop it right.<br /><br />THat engine doeesn't like to be lugged. It needs to be able to turn 5000 rpm at wide open throttle. Anything less, you're lugging it.

I don't really have any idea. Without knowing what rpm it can run now, hard to say. You can figure that each inch in pitch is worth 200 rpm-up or down.<br /><br />If I had to guess, I would start with a 12" to 14" pitch. :confused:
