I've just purchase a used boat with 150 Merc Optimax engine and have a question on flushing the engine. <br />It is my intention to flush it regularly and here is my problem. I have arranged in/out storage and do not have access when the boat is out of the water. I can however flush at pierside prior to the boat being removed from the water for inside storage. I have access to running water, etc. Can I flush the engine while the boat is still in the water? Can I just trim the engine to the up position to remove it from the water?
