Speaker sound issue

I purchased a used boat in the spring that came with a factory installed stereo. CD/Stereo with 2 speakers on deck and 2 speakers in cabin. I replaced all four speakers because of the sound. I have checked and re checked all wiring and can find no isssues. Here is my problem. Everything works great until I try to add a decent amount of volume. Then all four speakers get staticy sound, like I'm losing reception. But it is same even if boat is not moving. Sound is perfect and clear at low levels.. I'd say if the loudness adjustment were measured on a scale of 1-10, the static thing comes in around 3 or 4 and gets worse as I raise volume. Help! And thanks in advance!

Re: Speaker sound issue

Monitor the input voltage to the unit as you increase the volume. Volume takes power. If the power source is less than about 11.5 volts the unit will cut out. Does it behave the same way whether the engine is running or not? Have you checked (cleaned and tightened) the power connections.
