What type of wires are recommended for an E155WTLEN (Mod # missing from here). 155HP 2 stroke 6 cylinder. The whole kit, coil wires included. Thank you for any assistance you can give.
What do you mean, the whole kit with coil wires included? Each wire connects to a coil and a spark plug. We use the wires that have ss connectors. The wires we use have been proven thru 10,000+ rpm.
yes the wires for the outboard need to be metal core and not silicone core....you can still get metal core wire at Napa....but the wires are cheap enough here at Iboats.....
We've found that auto wires don't necessairly work that well on outboards. Shoot me a PM if you need help finding the good outboard wires, be glad to help.
Thanks for the reply. I am researching and learning about the motor as I post. I am trying to get the motor tuned up as much as possible. After checking sparks from all plugs, a so called marine mechanic tried to sell me a power pack after I could not start the motor. After cleaning all ground connections and crimping the spark plug and coil connections I was able to start the motor and had no issues for the rest of the day. I am electrically inclined but somewhat ignorant on marine nomenclature for outboards. Can you assist me with a link on where to find a good set of copper or metal core wires for my outboard. Thanks again.
Any decent auto parts store will have bulk copper core spark plug wire. If you cannot find it in bulk, get a universal set for a 4-6 cyl farm tractor.
They will be copper core.
Stay away from auto spark plug wires,as they have a carbon or fiberglass or such type of core.
