I wanted to change out the plugs in my 2016 Mercury 115hp 4 stroke EFI engine today, but cannot find the same plugs that were installed in the engine, probably when engine was new. I am second owner. The plugs in there are NGK ZFR5F with about a 3/4" threaded shaft. West Marine and another aftermarket outfit says they don't have them or they are unavailable. Any ideas of a cross ref for say, Champions or other good brand? I see some of these online but they seem to be for cars.

Thank you very much. I did see this from Amazon, but the length of the threaded shank looked shorter than mine. Mine is about 3/4". As long as the plug is ZFR5F, is it automatically long enough? I also heard from NGK who verified what I read here, NOT to use anti seize lube on their plugs. I never heard this before, but glad I know now. I will have to clean off the threads to be sure none from last year remain, or would it have burned off? Thanks for writing. Happy Holidays to you.

On Amazon they sometimes use a stock generic photo of the item. As long as the #s are thew same you are good.

Hi. These are widely available and used in lots of applications. There are also iridium versions too, that aren’t too much more expensive. I’ve changed mine twice a season since owning this engine a few years ago. Amazing engines, if you don’t know already.

Thanks for writing. I finally found them at Monarch and are in the mail now. Yes, I am pleased with my Merc. Thanks for your help. George
