Hello
Motor is a 2002 Mercury ELPTO 40 HP.
Manual says to use NGK BP8N-10 but also list a optional plug BPZ8H-N-10 with two ** which state Suppressor (Inductor) spark plug.
Is one better performance or better for the engine ? and
What is a Suppessor (Inductor) Spark Plug ? Internet search was more on surge protectors. The one article was about suppressing radio frequency. If so why is that important ?

Thanks
Mark

Re: Spark plug question

This is a noise-suppressor plug which you may need if you're running radios or other electrical-noise-sensitive electronic equipment.

If you don't have any of that, all you need are the standard spark plugs.

F.Y.I., here's a good article on RFI (Radio Frequency Interference):

Re: Spark plug question

If you have a radio or even a fishfinder, a non-suppesser plug can generate radio ferquincy(sp) (RF) interference. A loud hum on your radio. It will also make your fishfinder look like there is a lot of crap in the water.
