spark on only 1 cylinder?

I have an 83 Merc 40 I only have spark on one cylinder and won't fire at all. It seems like there is little gas getting to the plugs but gas dripping from carb. Plus it seems it won"t shift into neutral from the console. Help please!

First swap the coils around and see if your problem moves.

actually i sprayed a little fuel mix in the spark plug holes and she fired up and ran. But still doesn't go into neutral any ideas?
