Spark gap test for 1995 J50TLEOD?

Two cylinder 50hp Johnson. I have noticed a lot of engines seem to check for healthy spark at 7/16 inch. Would this be correct for mine?

7/16 to a 1/2 inch would be good nice blue snappy spark. Like a small lightning bolt.

Thanks. That is the tester I bought at the zone TD. If you hear someone scream you'll know I had a great spark....
