I have found in my In-laws back yard a fiberglass boat hull. The stern label says.

Span
Rice Lake, WI

I cannot seem to find any thing on this manufacturer anywhere on the web. If any one here has any information about them I would very much appreciate it.

Also, to the best of my knowledge they were made during the sixties, but no other info has been found thus far.

Thank You.

Re: Span Boats

It sounds like what you have is a boat made by a company called Span America. They were around during the late 50's and early 60's. Unfortunately we sold ours a few years ago. Had a 60 horse Flying Scott motor on it and that little boat flew thru the water.

Ah the memories...Ours was a 1957. It was a 16 footer but it had a hard top and the two front seats were actually molded in and in the center of the cockpit was that big old bench with the gas tanks and all the wiring inside. We'd take that boat ten miles out in to Lake Erie without a care in the world. That deep vee shaped bow would throw the water off to the side and we'd never get wet. Should never have sold it.

I should say, mine is 13'5". it's not quite as nice as it looks in the pics. it gets used regularly in the ocean. it has no carpet, the seats are weathered, and I've redone the dash with modern weatherproof toggle switches. at the end of a day in the ocean, I lift the front of the trailer until the rear bar touches the ground, and put the garden hose to the whole interior. the water just drains right out the transom hole. there is no flat floor or bilge to the little gal, the floor is just the hull itself. but it's simplicity at it's finest and easy cleanup of salt water residue.

Good stuff...

I have a 1960 vintage 14 foot Span America with a 40hp Johnson. Th engine is in great shape and the boat is in equally good condition. I am thinking of selling as I do nothave the time to really use it.

Any idea what it is worth. I would apprecaite feedback.
