Any of you blokes out there drink Southern Comfort?
I am a glenfiddich man, and for liqueur, then usually Glayva

Wife got me a big bottle of one of Southern Comfort Liqueurs, in a fancy tin. (I am a sucker for fancy tins associated with the alcoholic industry. I save them).
Anyway, I have a problem with this Southern Comfort Liqueur. It is a bit like lolly water, and although it states 30%, it certainly dosn't have any great 'boot' to it. I frequently drink the standard stuff to give my digestive system some variety, and found half a bottle could give me a different outlook on my life. This stuff can't - well, not that I notice anyway.
So my Q is, is this stuff really good or is it just meeting a softer market, so to speak.

Re: Southern Comfort

lolly water for sure

mom used to put it in her fruit punch for the old women, while the men drank brandy, whiskey, and beer

Re: Southern Comfort

They do make 100 proof Southern Comfort. Maybe that's just what the doctor ordered. I have a buddy who will only drink that stuff and he mixes it with Mt. Dew. Way too sweet for my taste.

I have recently been converted from Chivas Regal to MacAllan. I tried Southern Comfort a few times. Don't know what Lolly Water is, but if it is like drinking sugar SC is definitely like it.

Macallan or Glenfiddich...either is good for me. It's what I drink when not having beer or wine.

Re: Southern Comfort

Scotch serves a very useful purpose in using up malt that isn't good enough to be made into beer....so it has that upside....:D

But Southern Comfort is right there with Lemon Gin, Peach Schnapps, and a few other notables as being the answers to questions that nobody will ever ask :facepalm:

SC and Scotch should not be mentioned in the same thread. Pour it out Phil . . . :)

Here is a bottle of Southern Comfort that has been sitting at our marina tiki for several years now untouched. I have never seen anybody take a swig of her till recently......and this was by an iboat member, which I won't name at this time. He had the hiccups for the rest of the evening!

Smart Man ^ Rookies

I live in Wisconsin and do not work for 3-4 months a year. What do you think I do all winter? I drank a liter of 110 proof white whiskey straight, no ice or anything in 2 days last week. Pretty sure I'm not a rookie. :D
