I just moved to the Roswell area and there doesn't seem to me many places to go boating.

Any NM iboats members here? Where do you recommend for tubing, wakeboarding etc? Looks like my options are Brantley lake, lake Sumner or making the 3 1/2 hour drive to Elephant Butte, all of which I hear are almost empty.

Re: Southeast New Mexico boatig?

I live outside of Albuquerque. I mostly boat at Conchas or Ute. Ute is just west of Texas so it might not be too much further for you then Elephant Butte. The Butte is VERY low but there is still water. Just be careful camping as the sand is very deep. Very common to get stuck. I mostly boat at Conhas, it is about 2.5 hours from my house. Its only about 3500 surface acres but very pretty.

Here is a link to NM Lakes http://wwwapps.emnrd.state.nm.us/SPD/WeeklyReportingPublicDisplay/fulllist.aspx. It gets updated every few weeks. Good luck finding a lake you like, I sure wish I had closer options!
