I don't think you're going to get too many sympathizers on this forum.

Re: South Dakota Ban

Planned Parenthood, which operates the state’s only abortion clinic, in Sioux Falls, has pledged to challenge the measure in court.
It sounds like what his constituents desire, if there is only one clinic in the state.

Just because you dont like it, doesnt make it wrong. :)

Not looking for sympathy RF....Just commenting on how quickly Alito's ascension bore fruit...
For all of the blather about how he would be impartial...."Someone" thinks that the time is now ripe....As I said, this will get interesting!.....JK

Kinda jumping the gun there HM? Whining about what you THINK might happen.

There is no case in court yet, and predicting what the USSC will do is an exercise in futility.

Your glass is truly half empty.

Re: South Dakota Ban

How is my comment jumping the gun or whining for that matter? The Gov signed it...The wheels are in motion....I said it will be interesting to see what happens...However, to deny that there will be a court case is above your intellect, JB....I know you are smarter than that....
The outcome?
Who knows....
Merely pointing out that with Alito's ascencion, obviously there are those who feel
the stage is set & the time is ripe.....
Don't know where the half-empty comment comes from, you always have seemed to be impartial in the past, for the most part......JK

I agree that it will be interesting, regardless of which side ones interests lie.

Frankly, I think there will be a lot of repubs squirming on this one.

They prefer this as an issue, and they rightfully fear this as a "cause" for the other side.

It was always a safe bet to be against abortion while they were legal.

Time will tell.

Its time that this issue is revisited.
Who has all to loose. Who has what to gain.
We aren't killing baby seals here.

Most all legal scholars agree that Roe vs Wade is bad law, based on the legal decisions and the reasons they were made.

Many other "medical procedures" are banned or restricted at the state or federal level, why not abortion?

Murder is prosecuted at the state level. Murder is defined at the state level.

Why not let the states decide if abortion is murder?

Ken

Re: South Dakota Ban

Murder is defined/prosecuted at the Federal level as well.....
If each state were able to do as it wished, regardless of what the other states wanted, it might be O.K.....
But that never seems to really happen....
As long as there was not a federal ban it might be O.K.....
It would be a shot in the arm for the economies in the states that chose to keep it... ;)
It would suck for those who could not afford the cost of travel.... :(
It might be a civil rights issue....
Time will tell.....JK

Re: South Dakota Ban

Ummm... last time I checked all the feds could do is charge a murderer for violating someone's civil rights.

If our politicians had any guts they would put it in the constitution. But nope, they are just happy going with that supreme court decision.

Ken
