Well, you may be in trouble MY, but what will you remember the longest- scrubbing a toilet or watching a little kid catch his first big fish? Take your lickin' and keep on tickin'. It would be worth it to me.

Keep her in line MY.
When you make a sacrifice or give up something,
you will discover the more you give up, the more
they are preprogrammed to take. Stand your ground
she will respect you more for it. It will make
married life simpler.Keeping in mind that married
life is 50/50 or some were near there.

BAD IDEA M/Y she is gonna go beyond getting even for this one. What realy has me going now is she drove all the way out to the lake to find you. If this were my wife she would have had a gun  and I would never have headed in but rather ran and hid. I hope your wife is more forgiving and less evil in getting even than mine. Personally no matter what happened on the trip I feel the consequences are not worth it you should have stayed home.

I dont get it, How come all you guys are
so scared of your wives? You're not wearin skirts
are ya!
Im married too! Have been for more than 20 years
I have 3 boys still at home, I love my wife and
would die for my family in a heart beat.
Married life is a self fulfilling prophecy.Your
wife will expect what you repeatedly do.If you
cower thats what they will expect from you. If
you act like a man from the start, they will
expect you to act like one all the time!

No Sleep I ain't wearing a skirt and I do prety much what I want when I want but some things call for giving into her wishes. But what does scare me is I also taught her how to shoot  . I realy don't want to ever be that far on her bad side she is deadly accurate.

when my wife tried to send me to the couch I just acted like I thought the couch was ALOT more comfortable that the bed and started sleep there on my own until she begged me to come sleep with her. I've never been banished to the couch again! :D Life is a game and it's all about who is the better player. You have just got to know the rules. So if you started out doing exactly whatever you wife wanted you to do then guess what? she going to be mad when you don't. But if you're like me and didn't do what ever when ever then when you DO what she wants then she very happy because she didn't assume you would do it. It like the dog and the bell. conditioning, conditioning. Oh and BTW my wife has her own guns and goes hunting and fishing with me when she can.

MY,
I would have told her that I was getting "the kid" out of her hair for awhile. That way you where "tring to help" and "thinking of her" :D . You alway have to think of the spin!!! Because you know she is!

Re: sometimes u gotta say "what the...

boy did I come off bad on this post! LOL
here's my defense: :p
99% of work was done already days before.
even if I stayed, she still would have been
freaking out...
happily married for 15yrs, so know the game well.
this was only an elevated wife threat, def. not
code red. otherwise, I never would have pushed
the envelope.
but the look on Nick's face when he reeled that
Bass in was what I'll remember in the future :D
it even jumped 5 ft. in front of him.
anyways, the wife finally chilled and was really
cool about the whole thing. the question that
remains though, is how much did seein her baby
show off his prize fish actually influence her
attitude towards me.
M.Y.

I tried that once.....ONCE !!!!!

Woke up the next day with the sheets stapled around me and my little lady standing over me with a baseball bat.

Talk about deer in the headlights !!!!

All kidding aside. She's a great sport about my fishing expeditions. I try to go as often as possible, but when she starts planning stuff for US, a week in advance, I make it a point to be around...unless it the mother-in-law. She KNOWS I'm gonna be on the water that weekend.

And to think, I'm getting sick of single life. Well at least I can go fishing whenever and where ever as long as I have time away from work :D One nice thing about being 20 and single, heck if I was married at this age I think I would've been even stupider.

BTW, any of you guys have a daughter my age that likes to fish thats single? Just kidding. I can hear you loading the shells into the shotgun now.

Be safe all, but remember, you get life with marriage but only 25 with murder. Don't make the wife too mad otherwise she'll go with the 25 year option...

Been married 36 years, have to say we get along better now than ever. The keys might be: 1) we're more tolerant of each other's idiosyncrancies than when we were younger; 2) she runs the house completely, especially in the decorating area; 3) I help out whenever I can, including little chores for her, unasked; 4) I tell her how beautiful she is, often; 5) she gets a "fun fund" equal to what I spend on fishing, hunting and boat gas; 6) I named my boat for her :D
I'll leave it for someone else to figure out if any of those factors are more important than the others!

Mavrick with any luck both my daughters will say they will only date a man that can outfish them because then they will never date. But if and when they decide it is time to date I can think of and know much worse things to bring home to meet daddy than someone that likes to fish.

Re: sometimes u gotta say "what the...

I think anyone could outfish me. I swear theres a neon sign around my bait/lure in the water that the fish put up that says "DO NOT BITE". I took a date fishing once for the first date after she said she would like that. It was in my brother's very cheap boat (14' Smokercraft wanna-be jon boat with a '56 7.5 Johnson) and with my luck fishing (or lack there of) she was not impressed at all. For some reason she never did call me back and never returned me calls.

I geuss women judge a man by his boat and fishing skills even when they eventually hate those two things about him...

Congrats to all that have been married for so long. I can see myself staying in one job for that long but to live with and love a person for all those years without going nuts must be a huge talent for both people.

Now if I could just quit drooling whenever I see a outdoors type woman and just introduce myself...

Well I don't have that problem. If I get out the fishing gear and go out to the truck, the bride of 39 years will already be sitting in it with a packed lunch and cold refreshments.

My big problem is getting "The Usual Suspects" out of the boat. It is impossiable to fish with four labs in the boat. They want to retrive each cast, and catch and release takes on a whole new meaning. :)

Hehe Red Rider : and djohns19
mellowyellow: Since this was ur post : I both agree and dis agree with ya.. You may very well pay for that in later years... If its like my wife of 20 + years you will ... but it will be in fun... :) she still gives me a hard time for buying it without her siging the paperwork :) but on the Dogs... I had for 16 years two dogs... a doberman/hound and a golden retiver/great dane... both we got at about six months old...they were little.. both grew to about 160 lbs... we had no stuff at 30 to 36 iches in the house.. nothing on coffee tables or eating table.. picture a dog resting his snout on the dinner table ... at 30 to 36 inches.. then include his tale :)
Let alone him dumping us out of our baot at the time...
