I am not sure what broke, maybe someone can help me. I have a 2 axle trailer, on the back axle where the hub cover would be, is nothing, there is grease splattered all over the wheel.
Now I have been told that this is a pretty simple fix to replace the axle and not too expensive.
I was also told that I could still pull the boat on the single axle. It just wouldnt be as sturdy.
Any of this true?

Thanks for your help

Got a picture? I am having a hard time understanding. On one hand it sounds as if just the cover came off, on the other it sounds like you are saying the bearings, shaft and all is gone.
As far as one axle I would in the yard but not on the road. They sure wouldn't spend the money for 2 axles if one is sufficent.

Is it just the bearing cap gone? If it is they can be replaced easy, but I would also clean and repack the bearings. I also agree with Kenneth, I would not pul it except to get it off the road with one axle gone! my $0.02 worth.
Richard

Re: Something broke

Thanks for the help all. I think I wound up getting pretty lucky this time. It was only the hub that broke. Went and got a new one with new bearings and all the bells and whistles for $50.

thanks again for your time!!
John
