The trip from Augusta to Savannah is usually done with PWC's or canoes. You can put in below the navigation lock and dam southeast of Augusta. There are about 200 miles of meandering flatwater down to Savannah. A good part of the South Carolina river banks are restricted due to the Savannah River Site and on the Georgia shore there is restriction near plant Vogtle. There are numerous small boat launchs along the way, but no marinas that I'm aware of. I think motorized craft need to make sure they bring extra fuel. Currently the area is in a drought and the river levels are low. Much of the river flows through undeveloped areas and there can be downed trees, sand bars and other under water hazards. I would be very leery of trying it in anything that didn't have a very shallow draft.

Savannah River not that great for cruising. Now the St.Johns River is really nice, plenty deep, lots to see and do!...might be worth dragging your boat down there for the quality of the river. We put in at Welaka and cruise South to Sanford...just an idea! Good Luck!;)
