Re: some pics of my boat
I just wanted to post an update to this thread. Several years have past, at first I kept the boat and motor in my shed, eventually ran out of room, out came the boat, then pushed it over in the corner. 5 years ago when my grandson was 9, and his dad had just bought a new boat, he didn't have much interest in my little aluminum boat. I never put the boat on the water. About a year ago he started asking about, looking at it, etc. A week ago he said he wanted us to take his mother out fishing for mothers day. They both love to fish. So, I took it to get the wheel bearings greased, bought a new marine battery for trolling, Cleaned the thistles out of it. Put fresh gas and oil in the tank. Yesterday off we go to the lake. Grandsons goal was to catch fish. They caught about 65 crappie, nice size. My goal was to see if the motor ran. After initially flooding it, I think, it fired up. We took it for a good long drive. I adjusted the high speed knob, then the low speed nob and it never missed a beat and was idling very nicely when it became very windy and we needed to get off the lake. I am so impressed with that boat and engine. No leaks and it ran like a sewing machine.
