some help with the year of engine after checking the charts

Hello,

I have a mariner 60 engine.

Its serial number is listed as "675 30280"

I have had a look through the tables on the sticky at the top of this forum, but i am not sure where my serial number fits in...

If somebody who has a clue would be so kind as to tell me, it would be very helpful!

The starting serial number for 1976 was 30501 so I believe that it's a 1975 but there are no pre 1976 numbers available.

Ah, that probably explains why I can't find it then.

Interesting trivia,

Mariner outboards were first introduced in 1975 - in Australia. They were not released to the rest of the world until 1976.

That's why you cannot find a 1975 listing. Noodleman, are you downunder?

Nope, in the UK.

The engine has "made in japan" on it! but, i guess most of them do

I have some pics.. I will upload them shortly.

Hi guys.

I seem to have the same problem. mariner 60 , serial 675 L 32355, made in japan. So far the neares i have found our are 1977 ? can that bee right?

Karstan. you really should start you own thread but I understand your new, many people who add on get their questins missed anyway you engine was built as you thought in 1977. it's a 2 cyl. longshaft engine.
