I have a 1996 mariner 4 cyl 2 carb 2 cycle. It has the alarm constant. Would like to know how to figure out which sensor is causing the alarm?

Welcome to iboats Ted.

Should be only 2 sensors on that motor.
Overheat sensor, and low oil sensor if motor is oil injected.

Check oil level, and engine temp.

If both are good, the sensor could be bad.

Thanks Roscoe I will check both. However looking at other questions on this sites it apears the module that turns on the horn is a high fatality item. Do you think that is so and if so where is this module or whatever component it is.

The module you mention is merely to modulate the oil ground circuit to a square wave...beep, beep, beep. You don't need it as some engines in a year model, hp series, don't have the module....low end price wise. Tan and tan with light blue stripe are your fail wires. They send a ground to the low side of your alarm when a fail occurs. Without a module, just tie all those wires together and if you have a fail, you just get a solid beep and you have to investigate as to which it is. No biggie. HTH.
