Ahhh. The subject everyone loves to hate.

I have a question for the solderers. Most of the connectors (spade, ring, etc) are aluminum. Solder doesn't like aluminum and doesn't adhere well. What kind of connectors do you use? Brass, bronze, copper would work good but where do you find them?

Re: Soldering and Crimping

Actually, I don't think I've ever seen an aluminium connector. Most are tin plated something (steel, brass, copper alloy) which makes them very receptive to solder. The tin plating helps with corrosion, so I suppose that must be the main reason they do it - at least with copper and steel.
So is this a case of mistaken identity?

(Odd about the steel ones. You would think they would zinc plate them for corrosion resistance. But then you couldn't solder them. :D )
