Just sold my Maxum 1800 SR3 which has been a superb boat for my needs.
Which is wakeboarding/kneeboarding and Hydrofoiling inshore saltwater use.
Need a 18'-20' bowrider with good vee hull, and good build quality.

Not into competition boarding or skiing - purely recreational ...

After some comments here first option would be Chaparral SSI 206 would also consider 216/226
Other considerations are:
Cobalt 200/210
SeaRay 205/210
Rinker 226

I know Regal get high ratings in J D Power survey ... but not sure what wake would be like behind the aereated hull.

Any comments or other suggestions.

I'm in UK ... so some US options may not exist here.

Cobalt, sea ray, chaparral, regal, rinker would be my order of preference. It may come down to a matter of what is available to you.

Are there any local brands of boats in the UK that would be of consideration?

The UK small boat market was excellent until mid 80's ... then it simply could could compete with the mass of boats from US, exchange rates meant a US boat with all the 'bells & whistles' was same price as a basic British boat.
Plus British boats were very much outboard based.
The firms just folded .. Simms, Shakespeare, Phantom, Picton etc.

The exchange rate went other way .. and now US boats are not such a good deal in UK ... but few small boat manufacturers left.

Some of those left have changed to RIB only, as these are a premium price wise.
If you want a 40' plus cruiser or Millionaire yacht or even a racing sailing yacht ... then UK is still the best in the world, but not small to mid-size runabouts
