So I think i have narrowed it down to 2 props i am interested in but would like some peoples input.

*VITALS BELOW*

1) Low WOT, desire better whole shot, and would like to maintain slower planing speed.
2) Balistic SS
3) 14 3/8 x 21
4) WOT 4200rpm-51mph(gps) 5000(including boat and load) Owners manual state a 4600-5000rpm max.
5) Volvo-penta, SX 1:43, 2001, 280-300hp
6) Monterey Montura LS BR, 2001, 21.5', 3600lbs dry

I think i would like to try either the Solas Amita 4blade 14.25x17 or the Turning Point Hustler 4blade 14x17.

I see the Hustler has 2 blade geometries on their 4blade model? Seems like a great idea is this common? As well as vent holes...those seem like a great idea too but according to them they do very little past 1000RPM. Considering that, my boat, as well as most peoples boats, do very little below that RPM anyway except for maybe docking and loading. So if they are pretty much obsolete past 1000RPM what good can they really do in regards to the wholeshot? Secondly i have Captains Choice exhaust and although it does very little/nothing for performance i do like the way it sounds and run it about 1/2 the time therefore the thru hub exhaust ports would for obvious reasons not help.

As for the Solas Amita 4blade that appears to come with the hub already installed... not that big of a deal i guess that would just be the gravy. It seems like a very common 4blade prop and the reviews seem pretty good. I was really set on buying this prop to try out but the 2blade geometries on the Hustler seem like a legit idea...thoughts?

Re: Solas Amita 4 vs Turning Point Hustler 4

Skimming through both your posts it does seem to me a 280 hp 3600 lb boat would do better.
Perhaps the 1.43 ratio is too much for a 21" prop.
Again dropping 4" of pitch should help both hole shot and ability to stay on plane without going to the 4 blade.
should retain speed pretty well.
As far as the props go The Hustler is generally a really aggressive prop. The Solas is more predictable
yet quite effective.

steelespike...thank you I was hoping you would comment! :)

I also thought a 280hp motor would have pleaty of giddy up as a 21" prop seems pretty common so the only thing i could come up with is the drive ratio.

You really have me thinking Steelespike about going with the 3bl Hustler. What do you mean by "aggressive" and why do you prefer the 3bl over the 4bl in my situation? I really appreciate your knowledge!

Rright from their site my words. Squeeze cast ss like blade design.Progressive pitch and rake and venting besides.
If you go with a 4" pitch reduction it in itself will improve hole shot and ability to stay on plane. The hustler is said to provide control.
Sticking with 3 blade should help maintain speed. If we were just looking for hole shot we might just reduce 1" pitch and go with a 20" 4 blade. We're looking for about 800 rpm and hole shot.Reducing pitch improves hole shot as well as rpm.
Of course this all assumes the motor/setup are a ok as they seem.
