I use theese in Black on the Kennebec river in Maine...the river is heavily stained(hence the black color).. they do pull in very diffrent types of fish. Same day we took in a few smallmouth's a diecient large mouth, a few american eels(slimey suckers!!) and a very nice 21inch 16lb Striper all useing this bait in the black color....and yes they are slimey, and yes they do look, feel, and move(in the water) like live leeches....not sure on the other colors, but i assume they would work in any coloration depending on the tint of your favorite fishing hole...all in all on a scale of 1-10...id give em an honest 4 (compaired to say a berkley power grub)
