2000-2003 Cobia 25 foot Walkaround (I've seen "dry weights" of 3750 for the 2000-2001 models, and 4500 for the 2002-2003 models)

single OX66 Yamaha 250 HP engine (I've seen it at about 500 pounds)

100 gallons of fuel (620 pounds?)

Gear (8 fishing poles, one or two coolers of ice, 4 scuba tanks and scuba gear, maybe 10 gallons of water, anchor, lines, various and sundry fishing tackle, electronics, etc.) - maybe 300 pounds?

Tandem axle trailer with D rated tires and spare - either galvanized or all aluminum - this I have NO idea about

My current tow vehicle is a Ford F150 2011, 3.7L v6, 3.73 axle - supposedly max tow rating is 6400 pounds. I kind of wonder if it is enough, or if I would encounter problems at the ramp or on the highway. Most of our trips are under 20 miles in Florida, though we occasionally would want to go down to the Keys via interstate.

Looking at a possible upgrade to a F150 Ecoboost that has anywhere from a 9700-11300 tow rating dependent upon the package.

Still wonder sometimes about 4x4 but all the ramps we go out of are very nice and well maintained, though some of the Keys ramps I've seen are pretty shoddy.

You're definitely over 6400 lbs with that list. That trailer will be in the neighborhood of 1100-1300 lbs

your current tow vehicle is only good for "less than " a mile tows to ramp at low speed. The new truck will do it without issue.!zombie 2.jpg

Crap - looks like it is a new truck for me - until then I'll just have fun with my current boat and truck and watch with a grin as the salespeople from the various Ford dealerships try to get me to buy one of their trucks for the enxt 8 months :)

That estimate may be low by several huundred pounds. The tandem axle galvanized trailer (4500 lbs capacity, if I remember correctly) for my 21' Pro-Line weighed 1200+ lbs. The aluminum trailer (6600 lbs. capacity) for my 24' express cruiser weighed in at 1700 lbs.

grey, you can go to some of the manufacturers' websites and look them up.

(I think the difference in dry weights you've seen is based on one being an outboard (weight not including engine) and the other being an I/O.)
