Just fired up the 5.0 after a long winter's sleep. Last time it ran was early November. I filled the tank with non-ethanol premium before I put it to sleep. I hooked up all the water lines (having disconnected them for the winter) pumped the throttle 6 times, hit the key twice and it fired up and idled at 1k rpm.
The beautiful sound rivaled all the hot rods at the cruise in that I took my Mustang to, today. Now all that is necessary is that this unpredictable PNW weather settles down so I can get the boat out on the lakes and rivers.
This was all after the outdrive removal for water intrusion into the upper gearcase. That turned out to be due to a cracked outer casing on the hydro-mechanical shift cable.
