Re: snow boating...

Im almost wishing I never got rid of my R/C boat now. I never would have thought that a prop could grab snow for go.

Re: snow boating...

i've often thought about doing just that, never thought it would actually work... hmm, lots of new snow on the ground right now.... :D

not quite sure how they kept it from overheating though. Normally a marine rc glow engine uses water from the prop blast to pump through the head and then overboard. (imagine a speedo pitot, looks almost identical) Snow is certainly not going to flow through that tiny tubing, at least not for long. Maybe they swapped a car head onto the engine. (air cooled with fins)

If you check his other videos you'll see it's an electric motor (and carbon fibre hull).

Re: snow boating...

i would imagine you would have better luck with heavy wet snow, rather than a fluffy snow.

Re: snow boating...

so broke out my nitro RC boat today, put the biggest prop on it that I had as well as put a car head on the engine, and tried to fire it up. Pulled the cord 3 times, and it jammed up! pulled the engine out, took the recoil off, and it ate itself internally. I guess it just wasn't meant to be!
