Bought this 1994 Mercury 125HP a few years back cheap the trim tilt didn't work unplugged a port and works great. Started it a few times never noticed any amount of smoke. Over the course of this spring added oil to the tank, poured 1/2 a can of seafoam into a 1/2 full 20 gallon fuel tank to spruce up carbs although ended up cleaning them anyways. More smoke than before this spring and today at home fired it up and there was a lot of smoke. Then went to the lake fired it up zero smoke ran like a champ here is a video. Does this sound like a engine with a problem? I don't know why the smoke? Overfilled the oil tank maybe? Ideas? Here is a video didnt sound to my uneducated ear like it has any issues/

Sounds ok to me. Being fussy…I’d maybe give her a little more trim up, when running like that. You’ll see some improvement in performance and fuel efficiency etc.
all these things smoke when on a trailer or when started from cold at a fast idle. Better to have smoke than none.
If you are mixing the tank…is the oil injection system still active too ? Sea foam will make her smoke more than usual too.

I'm not mixing the oil and gas, I meant I added oil to the oil tank and read somewhere to full can cause smoke, I did fill to the full mark.. Relying on the oil injection system to do its thing. Which is probably a whole nuther discussion, at its age keep the injection system or remove system and mix. This was a inboard outboard Sangstercraft, I redid the backend to accommodate a outboard engine for some more fishing room.
